Most appliance repair services start with a form, a dispatch queue, and whoever's available. Call Allen Appliance Services works differently. When you call, you reach Allen — the technician who will actually come to your home in Thornwood, NY. That means no miscommunication between what you described and what shows up. No technician arriving without the right parts because the dispatcher summarised your problem incorrectly. Just a straight conversation, a confirmed appointment, and a repair done by someone who knows what they're doing and answers for the results personally.
Appliance problems don't sort themselves neatly by category. One week it's the fridge running warm; the next it's the washer throwing error codes. Call Allen Appliance Services covers the full range of residential appliance repair in Thornwood, NY so you have one number for all of it.

Refrigerator and appliance installation in Thornwood, NY — new unit installation with all connections confirmed and function verified before Allen leaves the job.
The assumption is that appliance repair is expensive relative to replacement. Run the numbers and that assumption rarely holds. A refrigerator that needs a new evaporator fan costs $120–$180 to repair. A comparable new refrigerator starts at $800. A washing machine with a failed drain pump — $150 to $200. A comparable new machine — $600 minimum. The calculation almost always favours repair for appliances under ten years old with a single-component fault. Where it doesn't, Allen tells you plainly. The job history is full of homeowners who called expecting to be told they needed a new machine and left with a repair receipt that was a fraction of what they'd mentally budgeted.
You have a fridge that's been running a little warm for four or five days. You've turned the dial colder. The freezer still works. You've lost a few things you weren't sure about but haven't thrown out the whole fridge yet. You're not in a full emergency — but you know something's not right, and you know the longer you wait, the more likely it becomes one.
Or maybe it's the dryer. It runs but clothes come out damp. You've been running everything twice. The laundry pile is building faster than you can clear it. You've been meaning to call for two weeks.
That's Allen's phone, every day in Thornwood, NY. Those situations — the ones that haven't fully failed yet but are clearly heading somewhere — are exactly where a call makes the most financial sense. Early diagnosis is almost always cheaper than late diagnosis. Allen's schedule reflects that: same-week visits across Thornwood, NY, with priority given to anything involving food safety or a household that's completely without a key appliance.

The first visit, the first bill — and then a second visit and a second bill when the same fault reappears because the underlying cause was never found. In Thornwood, NY, Allen hears this story regularly: another service came out, replaced a part, and the machine failed again within weeks. The symptom was treated. The cause wasn't. Allen's diagnostic approach is built around finding both — the component that failed and the condition that caused it to fail — because a repair that lasts is the only kind worth doing. If the same fault comes back after an Allen repair, call back. It won't be because the diagnosis was incomplete.
Do I actually reach Allen when I call?
Yes. Allen answers his own phone. If he's on a job and can't pick up immediately, he calls back directly — not through a service or a scheduler.
What appliances does Allen repair?
Refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, stoves, ovens, and ranges — gas and electric — across all major residential brands.
How quickly can Allen get to me in Thornwood?
Same-week visits are standard across Thornwood, NY. For urgent situations — a fridge that's losing temperature or a machine that's completely out — call directly and Allen will work to get there sooner.
Do you carry parts on the vehicle?
Yes. Allen stocks components for the most common failures across the brands he services most frequently. Most standard repairs are completed on the first visit.
What if I'm not sure whether to repair or replace?
Allen gives you a straight comparison — repair cost versus what a comparable replacement would run — and tells you what he'd do in your position. No pressure either way.
★★★★★ "Called the number, Allen picked up, we talked through the fridge problem, he came out the next day. GE refrigerator was barely cooling — turned out to be the evaporator fan. Part was on the truck, fixed in under an hour. The fact that I talked to the same person from the first call to the end of the job made a huge difference." — Tom H., Thornwood
★★★★★ "I'd used two other services for my Samsung washer. Both times it failed again within a month. Allen found the drain pump filter had been chronically blocked and was causing the pump to fail prematurely. Cleared the filter, replaced the pump, showed me how to check the filter myself going forward. No issues since — and that was four months ago." — Karen W., Thornwood
★★★★★ "Honest, knowledgeable, and on time. Allen looked at my dryer, found a blocked vent duct that two previous repairs had completely ignored, cleared it, replaced the thermal fuse, and the machine has dried a load in 45 minutes ever since. Exactly the kind of service I was looking for." — Mike D., Thornwood
